Management Profiles
The Company has achieved success through the deep experience and visionary leadership demonstrated by the Jaehne Family, along with valuable contributions from its employees. Here are brief profiles of the key executives at Leexus Oil.
Mr. Mark Jaehne - Co-Founder, Managing Partner, President - has worked in the oil and gas industry since 1987, when he began gauging wells for Dallas-based Parkway Petroleum on a part-time basis. Later, he worked part-time for Hercar Enterprises, helping to chemically treat wells in the Austin Chalk. At the same time, he worked as a Roughneck on a workover rig for Tex-Lee Operating Company in Giddings, then began buying and selling leases on more than 25 wells with his father. In 1993, he helped form and operate Giddings Oil & Gas, which bought and assembled oil and gas leases - and purchased mineral, royalty, and overriding royalty interests - for land within the Austin Chalk. The firm leased some 25,000 acres and obtained more than 100 wells. Seven years later, he formed Leexus Oil and Gas, LLP along with his father and a third partner. The enterprise operated similarly to Giddings Oil & Gas, but also functioned as a producer. Starting with a single well and using only cash flow, this firm acquired more than 70 wells and discovered two new oil and gas fields. After selling this business in May 2007 and honoring a one-year non-compete clause, Mr. Mark Jaehne and his father launched Leexus Oil in 2008. Together they have acquired 50 production wells and hold leases on more than 5,000 acres, and these holdings continue to grow.
Mr. Bennie Jaehne - Co Founder - In Memoriam 1946-2011
Mr. Bill M. Jaehne - Managing Partner - earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Texas State University in 2001, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in Houston three years later. He then joined T.S. Dudley Land Company in Houston as a Field Landman, gathering data on open mineral acreage and producing well plats in the Barnett Shale. He joined J.M. Huber Corporation In Houston as an In-House Landman, with responsibility from a land perspective for the largest production field in the inventory of Huber Energy, the prolific Powder River Basin in Sheridan County, Wyoming. After relocating to Huber's Denver office to increase his attention to the Rockies Region, he handled land, lease and title matters for more than 100 wells drilled on Huber's 2007-2008 schedule. In late 2008 he joined his brother and father in the newly formed Company. Leexus Oil LLC begins 2015 operating approximately 80 wells in 8 counties. Bill's business activities include purchasing leases, forming oil and gas drilling prospects, acquiring producing wells.
